Cong. Wilbert Manoy “Wise” T. Lee is rallying behind the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act, which he authored, as millions of pesos worth of smuggled agricultural products flood the market. Recent raids by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) have uncovered alarming quantities of illegal goods, including P21 million worth of smuggled items in Subic and P8.4 million in oranges from Thailand.

“Wakasan na ang kademonyohang ito,” Lee declared, urging for the immediate punishment of agri-smugglers and their accomplices. The Bicolano lawmaker emphasized the urgency of protecting local farmers and consumers from the dangers of smuggled products.
