From smuggled vegetables in Navotas to illicit meat products in Cavite, Lee warns that these criminal activities are sabotaging the economy and endangering consumers’ health. September 25, 2024 As Smuggled Goods Pile Up, Cong. Wilbert “Manoy” T. Lee Urges President to Sign Economic Sabotage Law Cong. Wilbert Manoy “Wise” T. Lee is rallying behind the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act, which he authored, as millions of pesos worth of smuggled agricultural products flood the market. Recent raids by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) have uncovered alarming quantities of illegal goods, including P21 million worth of smuggled items in Subic and P8.4 million in oranges from Thailand. “Wakasan na ang kademonyohang ito,” Lee declared, urging for the immediate punishment of agri-smugglers and their accomplices.
