Cong. Wilbert Manoy “Wise” T. Lee has called for immediate penalties against those responsible for large-scale smuggling of agricultural goods, following a series of high-profile seizures. From smuggled vegetables in Navotas to illicit meat products in Cavite, Lee warns that these criminal activities are sabotaging the economy and endangering consumers’ health.

Lee cited the enactment of the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act which aims to severely punish economic saboteurs. “Murang pagkain, gawin na natin!” he declared, emphasizing the law’s critical role in ensuring food security and bringing down inflation.
